ABOUT ME
I am originally from Mexico City, where I studied a BA in International Relations at the UNAM, and I have a PhD in Political Science from the University of Minnesota.

My research interests are quite interdisciplinary in nature and I engage with the literature on human rights, legal mobilization, access to justice, procedural justice, norm and legal diffusion, with a regional emphasis on Latin America. In my website you will learn about my work on different areas of inquiry:
-
Procedural Justice and Rule of Law

I currently work in New York City and live in Westchester county.

(Personal trivia: my complete legal name is "Verónica Michel Luviano" because Hispanics tend to recognize the mother in their family name)
