• Probably the most complete source for undergraduate and graduate students with advise on how to write, learn, or study can be found in the website of Mexican professor Raul Pacheco-Vega from FLACSO-Mexico. You won't regret going to that link. 

• On how to take notes and learn how to critically engage with your readings,  I also recommend this resource by Prof. John McMahon from Hunter College.

• On literature reviews. Although less thorough that Pacheco-Vega's website, USC provides also useful resources that explain what is a literature review and how to write one.
